Wrap up of the week

When the lady from the PR event came to visit us before, she brought not only chocolate but even flowers. Very much appreciated.

This week has just whooshed me by it seems. I have been busy with receiving handwritten cards from the Swedish Crown Princess (imagine my awe!), discussing details of our big event with CEO assistants (“Helen, I have goose bumps all over when you just tell me what’s going to happen on stage”, she said) and going through 4000 press contacts. I am on number 456, so I still have work to do. I was also supposed to go to the print shop today and give a final printing approval for a modern, pretty invitation card I have, obviously in cooperation with a designer, developed. Or rather, all I did was brief the designer, report all partners’ feedback and nag about trifles. Men rätt ska vara rätt, right must be right, as the Swede says.

Instead of going to the print shop though, I had to cancel because I absolutely needed to see an eye specialist. My contact at the print shop said, “You know, we never have anyone come for print approval, I can do it myself. I just wanted to meet you”.

The eye specialist also wanted to meet me, at least after two hours waiting time. My left eye has been hurting for a week and today I thought if I don’t go now I’ll have an annoying weekend. The doctor took a look through his fancy instrument and told me it’s good I came to see him today. “Because if this had gone on for one more day, I would have had to admit you to the clinic”. Uhm, okay. So now I’m trickling eye drops into my eyes every sixty minutes.

Yesterday, my co-worker and I attended an event of the German PR Society. It was very interesting because at aimed at associations only so we sat with people coming from all kinds of fields. I almost feel a bit sorry for those having to successfully communicate welding to the public. Then again, a former welder became Swedish Prime Minister.
